A long time ago the tuktuit were different They were scary Not the skittish deer we now stalk— All easy targets Soft pelts Good steaks But beasts we can hardly remember. Those caribou were fanged & ferocious Ready viciously to resist Our appetites & ruled by a spirt whose name too is forgotten.
